How to disable/enable Javascript in Mozilla Firefox 23+

Friday, November 1, 2013

In Firefox 22 you easily disable and enable Javascript by going to TOOLS > OPTIONS > CONTENT then just uncheck "Enable Javascript" but in Firefox 23+ the option to disable Javascript and the Advanced Javascript setting were removed from Firefox Options window.

You can still access Javascript setting via about:config or by installing addons. Below are the steps to access Javascipt settings.

1. In  Firefox address bar type in about:config then just press "I'll be careful, I promise!"

2.Search "Javascript" in search bar.

3.To disable Javascript, right click and select "Toggle" or double click the preference to change the value from "true" to false.

Note: If you want to enable it again just repeat the process in step 3. or do things easier by installing this addons QuickJS and NoScript Security Suite

Cheers.
